Beerakaya (Torai/Ridge Gourd) Methi Mutton Curry

Beerakaya Mutton curry is an excellent meat preparation with mutton cooked with beerakaya/torai that gives a unique taste. Sever with roti or white rice.

300 Grams Mutton
1/2 Kg Beerakaya
1 Tablespoon Oil
1 Cup Onion
1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
2 Teaspoons Red Chili Powder
1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup Water
1 Cup Fresh Methi Leaves
Coriander Leaves for Garnish
Heat 1 tablespoon Oil & add 1 cup sliced onion, fry the onion until light brown.
Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, add 300 grams, mutton, and mix well.
Add 2 teaspoons red chili powder, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt and mix well.
Add 1/2 cup water and mix well.
Close the pressure cooker lid & cook up to 2 whistles.
Once the pressure is out, take out the cover & mix it.
Add 1/2 beerakaya and mix well.
Close the lid & cook for 3 minutes.
Add 1 cup fresh methi leaves.
Close the lid and cook until beerakaya is well done.
Add chopped coriander leaves for garnish, mix it well and turn off the stove.
