Chamadumpa (Arbi/Colocasia) Mutton

This is a tasty non-vegetarian recipe, prepared with mutton and colocasia. As colocasia is used it is rich in carbohydrates. Serve hot with rice or chapatti.

Ingredients:

  • 300 Grams Chamdumpa (Arbi)

  • 500 Grams Mutton

  • 2 Tablespoons Oil

  • 2 Medium Onions

  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

  • 5 Teaspoon Chili Powder

  • Salt as per taste

  • 1/2 Cup Tamarind Water

  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala

  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Method:

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pressure cooker, and add 2 chopped medium onions, fry until onions changes color.

  2. Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, and mix well.

  3. Add 500 Grams mutton & mix well.

  4. Add 5 teaspoon chili powder, salt as per taste. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes.

  5. Add some water & mix well.

  6. Add 300 Grams Chamdumpa (Arbi) & mix well.

  7. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.

  8. Once the pressure releases, remove the lid and add 1/2 cup tamarind water and mix well.

  9. Add 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala and mix well.

  10. Add Coriander Leaves for garnish and turn off the stove.
