Mamidikaya Pulihora (Green Mango Rice)

Mamidikaya Pulihora is a South Indian rice recipe that is prepared with raw mango, rice, peanuts, cashews, curry leaves, green chilies, and some spices. This recipe is very similar to Lemon Rice, which we usually make at home.

1 Cup Oil
1 Teaspoon Jeera Seeds
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
Hand full of Dry Red Chilies
1 Tablespoon Urad Dal
2 Tablespoon Soaked Chana Dal
2 Tablespoon Peanuts
2 Tablespoon Cashews
3 Tablespoon Grated Green Mango
Few Curry Leaves
3 Cups Cooked Rice
1 Tbsp Salt
2 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds
Heat 1 cup oil, add 1 teaspoon Jeera, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, a hand full of dry red chilies, 1 tablespoon urad dal, 2 tablespoons soaked chana dal, 2 tablespoons peanuts, 2 tablespoons cashews, add few curry leaves and mix well.
Add 1 teaspoon turmeric powder and mix well.
Add 3 tablespoons grated green mango. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Turn off the stove.
Take 3 cups cold rice and add 1 tablespoon salt, 2 teaspoons sesame seeds powder. Mix well.
Add mango seasoning mixture to the rice and mix well.
