Shakshuka Indian Style

Indian Style Shakshuka Recipe is a delicious twist to the traditional Shakshuka. Pouched eggs served on a thick tomato and pepper sauce is the perfect combination. It is spicy, tangy and saucy.

Ingredients:

  • 6 Eggs

  • 1 Large Onion

  • 3 Large Tomatoes

  • 1 Large Capsicum

  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

  • 1 Teaspoon Chili Powder

  • 1 Teaspoon Salt

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder

  • Coriander Leaves for Garnish

Method:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil & add chopped onions.

  2. Add chopped green chilies & fry until onions are light brown.

  3. Add ginger garlic paste, add turmeric powder & fry for 1 minute.

  4. Add chopped capsicum & mix well, close the lid & cook for 1 minute.

  5. Add chopped tomatoes, mix it well & cook for 2 minutes.

  6. Add 1 teaspoon Chili Powder, 1 teaspoon Salt, & mix well. Cook for 10 minutes.

  7. Add 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder, Coriander Leaves & mix well.

  8. When the water reduces, make a space with a spoon & turn the low heat flame & slowly crack the egg.

  9. Close the lid & cook for 10 minutes on low flame.

  10. open the cover, slowly check if the egg is thoroughly cooked & cook for 2 minutes, turn off the stove.
