Stir Fry Idli (Leftover Idli)

Masala/Stir Fry Idli is a mildly spiced sautéed dish made from leftover idli's. Stir fry the idli's with onion-tomato mixture and seasoned with some spices. Enjoy with coconut chutney.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Leftover Idly’s

  • 1 Tablespoon Oil

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Jeera

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds

  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Onions

  • 3 Chopped Green Chillies

  • Few Curry Leaves

  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Tomatoes

  • 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

  • 2 Teaspoons Idly Powder

  • Coriander Leaves

Method:

  1. Take 4 leftover idli's. Mash the idli's and keep it aside.

  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil, add 1/2 teaspoon Jeera, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 cup chopped onions, 3 chopped green chilies, few curry leaves and sauté well.

  3. Add 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are soft.

  4. Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and mix well.

  5. Add mashed idli and sauté well.

  6. Add 2 teaspoons idli powder and stir fry for 1 minute.

  7. Add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
