Mutton Vindaloo is a fantastic fiery red Indian curry dish of tender lamb chunks cooked in vindaloo sauce made with lots of red chilies, vinegar, garlic, and spices. Serve this delicious lamb vindaloo curry with steamed rice or dinner rolls.
- 500 Grams Mutton
- 1 Teaspoon Papaya Paste
- 10 Dry Red Chilies
- 3 Elachi
- 5 Cloves
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 1/2 Teaspoon Jeera
- 1 Teaspoon Coriander Seeds
- 1 Piece Ginger
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 1/2 Cup Vinegar
- 1 Cup Chopped Onions
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- Chopped Coriander Leaves
In a bowl, add 10 dry red chilies, 3 elachi, 5 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/2 teaspoon jeera, 1 teaspoon coriander seeds, 1 piece ginger, 3 garlic cloves, 1/2 cup vinegar, and soak them for 1 hour.
Take 500 grams of mutton and add 1 teaspoon papaya paste. Mix well and keep it aside for 1 hour.
Add the soaked spices to the grinder and make a smooth paste.
Add 3 teaspoons of masala paste to the mutton. Mix well and marinated it for 1 hour.
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add the marinated mutton. Mix well and close the lid and cook for 3 minutes.
Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
Add 1 cup water and cook for 2 minutes. Now add 1 cup chopped onions, 1 teaspoon salt, close the lid and cook for 30 minutes on medium flame.
Mix occasionally and add water if needed.
Finally, add chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and turn off the stove.
Serve hot with roti or steamed white rice.
