Cabbage Chana Dal Sabzi is a simple sabzi made with cabbage, soaked chana dal, and spices. This sabzi pairs well with soft, hot chapatis. Cabbage chana dal sabzi with chapatis also makes for a healthy lunch box recipe.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Chana Dal
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 Cup Sliced Onions
- 3 Green Chiles
- 1 Big Cabbage
- 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Fresh Methi Leaves
- Chopped Coriander Leaves
Method
Step 1
Soak the chana dal for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Heat 1 tablespoon and add 1/2 cup sliced onions, 3 green chilies. Sauté until the onions are golden brown.
Step 3
Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, and mix well.
Step 4
Add shredded cabbage and mix well. Add soaked chana dal and mix well.
Step 5
Add 1 teaspoon red chili powder, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add 1 cup fresh methi leaves and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 7
Mix and cook until cabbage is well done. Add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove. Serve hot with roti.
