Chamakura Pappu (Colocasia Leave Dal) – an easy and delicious. This pappu recipe has moong dal cooked with Arbi leaves and mango. It is a hearty and flavorful dish that can be served with chapathis or rice.
Ingredients (For Dal)
- 7 -8 Chamakura Leaves
- 1/2 Cup Raw Mango
- 1 Cup Moong Dal
- 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Oil
- 2 Teaspoons Green Chili Paste
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Chopped Onion
Ingredients (For Seasoning)
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- Few Dry Red Chillies
- Few Curry Leaves
Method
Step 1
Dry roast 1 cup moong dal, fry until nice aromatic smell.
Step 2
Boil water in a cooking bowl, add roasted dal, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon oil, close the lid and cook until 50 % done.
Step 3
Add chopped leaves, add 2 teaspoons green chili paste, add half cup raw chopped mango and mix well.
Step 4
Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 chopped onion and mix well, close the lid & cook until dal is well done.
Step 5
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a cooking bowl, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, few dry red chilies, few curry leaves.
Step 6
Add the seasoning to the dal. Serve the dal with white rice.
