Shami Kebabs are a regional favorite and one of the best kebab that is found to be popular within Afghani, Pakistani, and Indian cuisine. It goes well as a snack or easily accompanies any meal.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Pre Soaked Chana Dal
- 1 1/2 Kg Chicken Keema
- •1/2 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 3/4 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala
- 4 Chopped Green Chilies
- 1/4 Cup Mint Leaves
- 1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves
- 1/2 Cup Onions
- 1 Egg
- Bread Crumbs as Required
Method
Step 1
Soak 1/2 cup chana dal for 1 hour.
Step 2
Add the soaked chana dal to a cooking pot. Add 1 1/2 chicken keema or boneless chicken. Add 1 cup water & cook until all the water reduces.
Step 3
Add 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, 3/4 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala and mix well.
Step 4
Once all the water reduces, turn off the stove.
Step 5
Add 4 chopped green chilies, 1/4 cup mint leaves, 1/4 cup coriander leaves, 1/2 cup chopped Onions, 1 beaten egg, and mix well.
Step 6
Make patties, as shown in the video. Dip the patties in the egg mixture and bread crumbs.
Step 7
Heat oil in a pan and add the patties. Shallow fry on both sides. Take it out & serve hot with sauce.
