Chicken Chinta chiguru is a popular Andhra cuisine. Chicken is cooked with tender tamarind leaves these leaves are only available during spring season.

Ingredients

  • 500 Grams Chicken
  • 2 Teaspoons Tamarind Leaves Powder
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 3 Green Chilies
  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Teaspoon Raw Mango
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Coriander Leaves for Garnish

Method

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add 1 cup chopped onion. Stir for 1 minute.

Step 2

Add 3 green chilies and fry until golden brown.

Step 3

Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, add 500 gm chicken, and mix well.

Step 4

Add 2 teaspoons red chili powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and close the lid—Cook for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Mix it and cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 6

Add 2 teaspoon dry chinta chiguru powder, add chopped raw mango, add half cup water and cook for 5 minutes.

Step 7

Add 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, add ½ teaspoon garam masala, and add chopped coriander leaves.

Step 8

Mix well and turn off the stove.
