Egg Biryani is a Hyderabadi food recipe prepared with boiled eggs, basmati rice and spices. A classic delicious aromatic biryani made in dum style. Serve with raita.
Ingredients (For Rice)
- 10 Cups Basmati Rice
- 18 Cups Water
- 3 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Shajeera
- 3 Bay Leaves
- 3 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 Tablespoon Ghee
Ingredients (For Curry)
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Ghee
- 1/2 Teaspoon Shajeera
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 2 Cinnamon Stick
- 1 Large Sliced Onion
- 5 Green Chilies
- 2 Cups Coriander Leaves
- 2 Cups Mint Leaves
- 2 Cups Curd
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 2 1/2 Teaspoon Chili Powder
- 2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Leaves
- 1 Teaspoon Biryani Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 2 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
Ingredients (For Egg)
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garam Masala
Method (For Rice)
- Take 10 cups basmati rice & wash the rice, drain the water.
- Add 18 cups of water, add 3 tablespoons salt, 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste, 1 tablespoon oil, 1/2 teaspoon shah Jeera, 3 bay leaves, 3 cinnamon sticks, 1 tablespoon ghee & soak for 30 minutes.
Method (For Curry)
- Add 1 tablespoon oil & 1 tablespoon ghee in a cooking pot.
- Add shah Jeera, cinnamon & bay leaves. Add one large sliced onion, fry until onions are brown and crispy.
- Add 5 green chilies, 2 cups coriander leaves, Add 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 1/2 teaspoons Chili powder, 2 teaspoons salt, 1 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon Biryani powder, and mix well.
- Add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste & boil until gravy is thick.
- Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and turn off the stove.
Method (For Egg)
- In a cooking pan, heat 1 tablespoon oil, add 1/4 teaspoon chili powder, add 1/ 2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala.
- Add boiled eggs, mix them, and keep them aside.
Method (For Setting Biryani)
- Apply ghee to the bottom of the pot, add a layer of the gravy at the bottom, and add a layer of cooked rice, add the gravy layer again, add the rest of the rice on the top, make holes in the rice, add one cup of milk with a pinch of orange-red color.
- Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, add coriander leaves add mint leaves, add fried onions on top of the rice.
- Add eggs, cover with foil and close the lid, and cook for 20 minutes on medium heat.
- After 20 minutes, remove the foil and enjoy the delicious egg biryani.
