Kadai Chicken is a prevalent Chicken Dry dish made with rich tomato gravy and sauteed and chunks of capsicum and onions. This spicy curry goes well with naan or any other Indian bread.
Ingredients
- 1 Large Onion
- 1 Large Tomato
- 1/3 Cup Cashews
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1 Onion Cubes
- 1 Capsicum Cubes
- 200 Grams Chicken
- 1/2 Teaspoon Shah Jeera
- 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Jeera Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1/4 Teaspoon Kasuri Methi
Method
Step 1
Add 1 large onion to a grinder, make a smooth paste, and keep it aside.
Step 2
Add 1 large tomato to a grinder, make a smooth paste, and keep it aside.
Step 3
Add 1/3 cup cashews, little water in a grinder, and make a smooth paste.
Step 4
Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add 1 onion cubes, 1 capsicum cubes. Sauté for 2 minutes and keep them aside.
Step 5
Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add 200 grams of chicken, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/4 garam masala, and stir fry until light golden brown. Take them out and keep them aside.
Step 6
Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add 1/2 teaspoon shah jeera. Add onion paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
Step 7
Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, and mix well.
Step 8
Add tomato puree and mix well. Add 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon jeera powder, 1/4 teaspoon garam masala, and mix well.
Step 9
Add fried chicken pieces and mix well. Add 1/2 cup water and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 10
Add cashew paste and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 11
Add onions and capsicum cubes and mix well. Add 1/4 teaspoon Kasuri methi and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 12
Add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
