Motichoor Ladoo is made with chickpea flour/besan. Tiny drops of Chickpea flour batter are deep-fried and then mixed with sugar syrup and then shaped into round balls. This sweet is offered to many Indian God and Goddesses on various festivals and auspicious day.
Ingredients (For Batter)
- 2 Cups Chickpeas Flour
- 2 Cups Water
- 1/4 Cup Baking Soda
- A Pinch of Orange Red Color
Ingredients (For Syrup)
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 2 Cups Water
- Cardamom Powder
Other Ingredients
- Ghee
Method
Step 1
Take 2 cups of chickpeas flour in a bowl and add 2 cups of water slowly. Make a smooth batter with any lumps.
Step 2
Add 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, a pinch of orange-red color, and mix well.
Step 3
Heat oil in a Kadai and make Boondi. Pour 1 ladle of batter into the Boondi Jhara with another ladle to help the batter drop off easily to the hot oil.
Step 4
As soon as the Boondi is dropped, a lot of bubbles come up. Once the bubbles begin to reduce, take the Boondi out. DON'T MAKE IT CRUNCHY.
Step 5
Put the fried Boondi in the grinder and make a coarse powder.
Step 6
In a pot, add 2 cups of sugar and add 2 cups of water.
Step 7
Mix until all the sugar dissolves and boil it for 5 minutes.
Step 8
Add cardamom powder and coarse Boondi to the sugar syrup. Mix Well.
Step 9
Add 1/4 cup Mellon seeds and mix well.
Step 10
Turn off the stove.
Step 11
Grease your hands with ghee and make Ladoo.
