Chicken Haleem, a very popular dish prepared during the month of Ramzan. It is a popular dish from the Hyderabadi cuisine is an awesome and rich dish made with a wholesome mixture of chicken, lentils, dry fruits, and broken wheat.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 Lb Chicken
  • 2 Cups Chicken Stock
  • 1/2 Cup Cracked Wheat
  • 1/4 Cup Oats
  • 1 Cup Fried Onions
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Shah Jeera
  • 3 Sticks Cinnamon
  • 8 Cardamoms
  • 15 Cloves
  • 10 Almonds
  • 2 Teaspoons Urad Dal
  • 2 Teaspoons Moong Dal
  • 2 Teaspoons Masoor Dal
  • 2 Teaspoons Chana Dal
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Sesame Seeds
  • 2 Teaspoons Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Rose Petals
  • 2 Teaspoons Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Tablespoons Curd
  • 5 Green Chilies
  • 1/4 Cup Mint
  • 1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice

Method

Step 1

In a bowl, take 1/2 cup cracked wheat, 1/4 cup oats, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (Jeera), 1 tablespoon black pepper 1 teaspoon Shah Jeera, 3 sticks cinnamon, 4 -5 cardamom, 5-6 cloves, 1/4 cup almonds, and cashews, 1 teaspoon urad dal, 1 teaspoon moong dal, 1 teaspoon masoor dal, 1 teaspoon chana dal, 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, and mix them with a spoon and grind them into a coarse powder.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add ginger, garlic paste and mix well.

Step 3

Add chicken cubes and add chicken stock and mix well.

Step 4

Add fried onions, chopped cilantro, chopped mint, 1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves, 5 Green Chilies, 2 tablespoons curd, 2 teaspoons salt, add dry ingredients powder, rose petals and mix them all.

Step 5

Pressure cook for up to 2 whistles.

Step 6

Take out the pressure cooker cover and add 1 cup of water.

Step 7

Cook for 30 minutes on low flame, take a potato masher, and mash into a paste.

Step 8

Add 1 tablespoon ghee and lemon juice. Mix well and serve hot.
