Aloo Toast is popular street food in Hyderabad. Deep-fried bread is layered with cooked and spiced potatoes, chutneys, and sev. It’s crunchy and delicious.
Ingredients (For Red Chutney)
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 4 Chopped Garlic
- 12 Kashmiri Red Chilies
- 2 Tablespoons Dalia
- 1 Small Onion
- 1/2 Chopped Tomato
- 1 Teaspoon Vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
Ingredients (For Green Chutney)
- 5 Green Chilies
- Coriander Leaves
- Mint Leaves
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 1/4 Teaspoon Jeera
- 2 Teaspoon Roasted Chana Dal
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice
Ingredients (For Maida Mixture)
- 2 Tablespoons Maida
- 1 Tablespoon Cornflour
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- A Pinch of Turmeric Powder
Ingredients (For Potato Mixture)
- 3 Boiled & Mashed Potato
- 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Jeera Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Green Chutney
- 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chutney
Method (For Red Chutney)
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add 4 chopped garlic, 12 Kashmiri red chilies. Sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add 2 tablespoons dalia and sauté until the dal is light brown.
- Add 1 small chopped onion, 1/2 chopped tomato, and mix well.
- Add 1 teaspoon vinegar, 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and cook until tomatoes are soft.
- Turn off the stove and let it cool. Grind it to smooth paste and keep it aside.
Method (For Green Chutney)
- In a grinder add 5 green chilies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, 3 garlic cloves, 1/4 teaspoon jeera, 2 teaspoons roasted chana dal, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoon lemon juice, little water and make a smooth paste.
Method (For Maida Mixture)
- In a bowl add 2 tablespoon maida, 1 tablespoon cornflour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, a pinch of turmeric powder, water, and make a liquidy batter.
Method (For Potato Mixture)
- Take 3 boiled and mashed potatoes. Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/3 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/4 teaspoon jeera powder, 1/2 teaspoon green chutney, 1/2 teaspoon red chutney and mix well.
Method (For Aloo Toast)
- Take 2 slices of bread and apply potato mixture to the bread.
- Dip the bread in a maida mixture and fry the bread in hot oil.
- Fry the potato side bread in oil for 1 minute. Turn it to the other side slowly and fry for 1 minute. Take it out.
- Apply red chutney, green chutney, and cut the bread in half.
- Add finely chopped onions and sev on top of the onions.
- Serve and enjoy.
