Dum ka Red Chicken is one among the marriage menu commonly served with rumali roti or any flatbread. It is a simple and easy recipe that can be made in the comforts of your home.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon Cashews
- 1 Tablespoon Almonds
- 2 Tablespoons Dry Coconut
- 1 1/2 Kg Chicken
- 3 Tablespoons Curd
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Red Chili Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 Teaspoon Chicken Masala
- 2 Teaspoons Red Chili Sauce
- 3 Teaspoons Tomato Ketchup
- 2 Tablespoons Oil
- 2 Teaspoons Green Chili Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Ghee
- 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Soya Sauce
- 2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice
- 1/4 Teaspoons Red Color
- 4 Green Chilies
- Chopped Mint Leaves
- Chopped Coriander Leaves
- Chopped Fresh Methi Leaves
- 1 Cup Fried Onions
Method
Step 1
Dry roast 1 1/2 tablespoon cashews, 1 tablespoon almonds, 2 tablespoons, dry coconut, and roast them for 1 minute. Make a smooth paste and keep it aside.
Step 2
In a bowl, add 1 1/2 Kg chicken, 3 tablespoons curd, 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 teaspoons red chili powder, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1 teaspoon chicken masala, 2 teaspoons red chili sauce, 3 teaspoons tomato ketchup, 2 tablespoons oil, 2 teaspoons green chili sauce, 1 tablespoon ghee, 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder, 2 teaspoons soya sauce, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and mix well.
Step 3
Add 1/4 teaspoons red color, 4 green chilies, chopped mint leaves, chopped coriander leaves, chopped fresh methi leaves, and mix well. Marinate it overnight.
Step 4
In a cooking pot, add the marinated chicken. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Mix well and cook for 5 more minutes.
Step 6
Add 1 cup fried onions and mix well. Close the lid and cook until the chicken is well done.
Step 7
Take out the lid and cook until all the water reduces.
Step 8
Mix well and turn off the stove. Serve hot with rumali roti.
