Kadhi is a popular north Indian dish, made with besan and yogurt as main ingredients with gram flour pakodas dipped in it. A popular recipe across Indian homes, Kadhi is best served along with cooked rice.
Ingredients (For Kadhi)
- 1 Cup Curd
- 2 Teaspoons Green Chili Paste
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- Salt as per taste
- 2 Tablespoon Besan (Chickpeas Flour)
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 3 Dry Red Chilies
- Few Curry Leaves
Ingredients (For Pakora)
- 1/2 Cup Besan
- 1/2 Teaspoon Chili Powder
- Salt as per Taste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- A pinch of baking soda
Method
Step 1
Take 1 cup of curd in a mixer, add 2 teaspoons of green chili paste, 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, salt as per taste, 2 tablespoons of besan (Chickpeas Flour).
Step 2
Add some water and grind it.
Step 3
In a pan, 1 tablespoon oil & add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 3 dry red chilies and stir it.
Step 4
Add Few curry leaves and mix them.
Step 5
Add curd mixture, some water in it, and mix well.
Step 6
In the kadhi, add chopped coriander leaves and take the kadhi into a bowl.
Step 7
Take 1/2 cup besan in a bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, salt as per taste, 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste.
Step 8
A pinch of baking soda and add water. Mix well.
Step 9
Heat oil in Kadai and slowly drop the besan mixture in oil like pakoras.
Step 10
Fry the pakoras until golden brown.
Step 11
Add pakoras in hot kadhi. Serve it with white rice.
