Bharwa Bhindi is a popular Indian side dish where the okra is stuffed with a spicy filling. This dish goes really well with flatbread like roti or paratha.
Ingredients
- 300 Grams Bhindi
- 3 Tablespoons Besan
- 2 Tablespoons Dry Fruit Powder
- 2 Teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Jeera Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Ginger Garlic Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Dry Coconut Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Oil
- 2 Tablespoon Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Jeera Seeds
- 1 Small Onion
- 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- Coriander Leaves for Garnish
Method
Step 1
Take 300 Grams Bhendi & split half of the bhindi, as shown in the video.
Step 2
In a bowl, take tablespoons besan, 2 tablespoons dry fruit powder, 2 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon Jeera powder, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste, 1 teaspoon Salt, 1 teaspoon dry coconut powder, 1 teaspoon oil, and mix well.
Step 3
Stuff the mixture in bhindi.
Step 4
Heat 2 tablespoon oil in Kadai, add 1 teaspoon Jeera seeds, 1 small chopped onion, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. Once the rawness goes away, add the stuffed bhindi.
Step 5
Cook it on low heat for 2 minutes with half covered lid.
Step 6
Sauté it as shown (without using a spoon).
Step 7
Once the bhindi is semi-cooked, mix all the bhindi with a spoon and cook for 5 more minutes.
Step 8
Once the bhindi is cooked, turn off the stove & garnish it with Coriander Leaves.
