Bharwa Bhindi is a popular Indian side dish where the okra is stuffed with a spicy filling. This dish goes really well with flatbread like roti or paratha.

Ingredients

  • 300 Grams Bhindi
  • 3 Tablespoons Besan
  • 2 Tablespoons Dry Fruit Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Jeera Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Ginger Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Dry Coconut Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Oil
  • 2 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Jeera Seeds
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • Coriander Leaves for Garnish

Method

Step 1

Take 300 Grams Bhendi & split half of the bhindi, as shown in the video.

Step 2

In a bowl, take tablespoons besan, 2 tablespoons dry fruit powder, 2 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon Jeera powder, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste, 1 teaspoon Salt, 1 teaspoon dry coconut powder, 1 teaspoon oil, and mix well.

Step 3

Stuff the mixture in bhindi.

Step 4

Heat 2 tablespoon oil in Kadai, add 1 teaspoon Jeera seeds, 1 small chopped onion, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. Once the rawness goes away, add the stuffed bhindi.

Step 5

Cook it on low heat for 2 minutes with half covered lid.

Step 6

Sauté it as shown (without using a spoon).

Step 7

Once the bhindi is semi-cooked, mix all the bhindi with a spoon and cook for 5 more minutes.

Step 8

Once the bhindi is cooked, turn off the stove & garnish it with Coriander Leaves.
