Vermicelli Pulao/Semiya Pulao is a quick and easy breakfast Indian dish made with vermicelli, your choice of vegetables, and some basic Indian spices.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Vermicelli
  • 2 Tablespoon Oil/Ghee
  • 1 Teaspoon Shah Jeera
  • 3 Sticks Cinnamon
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 4 Green Chilies
  • 1/2 Cup Tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cup Potato
  • 4 Cups Water
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • Salt as per taste

Method

Step 1

Dry roast 2 Cups Vermicelli for 3 minutes, keep it aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon oil and 1 teaspoon Shah Jeera, 3 sticks cinnamon, 1 small chopped onion, 4 green chilies, 1/2 cup tomatoes, 1/2 cup potato, and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 3

Add ginger-garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, and mix well.

Step 4

Add 4 cups water, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, salt as per taste.

Step 5

Close the lid and boil it for 1 minute.

Step 6

Add the roasted vermicelli and mix well.

Step 7

Add chopped coriander leaves and close the lid. Cook until vermicelli is soft, stirring occasionally.
