This delicious Cashew Chicken is as good as it gets. By using cashews instead of cream, this recipe is as rich and creamy as any restaurant-style chicken. Serve with Jeera Rice or Naan.
- 1 Kg Chicken
- 1/4 Cup Cashews
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Shah Jeera
- 2 Sticks Cinnamon
- 1 Cup Onion
- 2 Green Chilies
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala
- Coriander Leaves
In a grinder, add 1/4 cup cashew and 2 tomatoes. Make a puree and keep it aside.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add 1 teaspoon shah Jeera, 2 cinnamon sticks.
Add 1 cup onions, 2 green chilies, and sauté until onions are light golden brown.
Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste, and 1 kg chicken.
Close the lid and cook for 1 minute.
Add 2 teaspoons red chili powder, 1 teaspoon salt. Mix well and cool for 5 minutes with lid closed.
Add 1 cup water and cook for 5 more minutes.
Add tomato cashew puree and cook until the gravy is thick.
Add 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, coriander leaves, and mix well.
Turn off the stove and enjoy with roti.
