Sorakaya Methi curry in our home state Andhra Pradesh. It is very easy to prepare, and it tastes great with rotis and, of course, with rice.
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 Cup Onions
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Green Chili Paste
- 1 Cup Fresh Methi Leaves
- 1 Sorakaya (Bottle Gourd)
- 1/2 Cup Soaked Chana Dal
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Milk
- Coriander Leaves
Method
Step 1
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil and add 1/2 cup sliced onions. Sauté well and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 2
Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 1/2 teaspoon green chili paste, and mix well.
Step 3
Add 1 cup fresh methi leaves and mix well.
Step 4
Add sorakaya pieces and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add 1/4 cup soaked chana dal and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 6
Add 1 teaspoon salt and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 7
Add 1 cup of milk and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 8
Add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
Step 9
Serve hot with roti.
