Masala/Stir Fry Idli is a mildly spiced sautéed dish made from leftover idli’s. Stir fry the idli’s with onion-tomato mixture and seasoned with some spices. Enjoy with coconut chutney.
Ingredients
- 4 Leftover Idly’s
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Jeera
- 1/2 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Onions
- 3 Chopped Green Chilies
- Few Curry Leaves
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Tomatoes
- 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 2 Teaspoons Idly Powder
- Coriander Leaves
Method
Step 1
Take 4 leftover idli's. Mash the idli's and keep it aside.
Step 2
Heat 1 tablespoon oil, add 1/2 teaspoon Jeera, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 cup chopped onions, 3 chopped green chilies, few curry leaves and sauté well.
Step 3
Add 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are soft.
Step 4
Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and mix well.
Step 5
Add mashed idli and sauté well.
Step 6
Add 2 teaspoons idli powder and stir fry for 1 minute.
Step 7
Add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
