Thumikura is special dish made only on Ganesha Chaturthi and not eaten on any other time during the entire year. Mostly this leaves are used for medicine purpose. It is made with Chana Dal and Raw Tamarind paste.
Ingredients
- 500 Grams Thumikura
- 100 Grams Green Chilies
- 100 Grams Raw Tamarind
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Cup Soaked Chana Dal
Method
Step 1
Take 500 grams of thumikura. Clean wash and keep it aside.
Step 2
Add 100 grams green chilies, 100 grams raw tamarind, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt in the grinder, and make a smooth paste.
Step 3
Boil water and add 1/2 teaspoon salt, thumikura. Mix well and boil for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Take it out and keep it aside.
Step 5
Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add green chili tamarind paste. Sauté until the rawness smell goes away.
Step 6
Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, and mix well.
Step 7
Now add boiled thumikura and add 1/2 soaked chana dal. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 8
Mix well and make sure there is no water. Turn off the stove.
