The chicken Manchurian recipe is a simple yet delectable Chinese recipe. Crispy fried chicken pieces are tossed in a sweet and savory sauce and served alongside fried rice or noodles.

Ingredients (For Batter)

  • 2 Tablespoons Cornflour
  • 2 Tablespoons Maida (All Purpose Flour)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper Powder
  • 1 Kg Boneless Chicken

Ingredients (For Seasoning)

  • 2 Tablespoons Soya Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 & 1/2 Tablespoon Red Chili Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Garlic Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 6 Chopped Garlic
  • 1 Inch Finely Chopped Ginger
  • 6 Chopped Green Chilies
  • 2 Chopped Spring Onions
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper Powder
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornflour Starch
  • Chopped Spring Onion Greens
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves

Method

Step 1

In a bowl, add 2 tablespoons cornflour, 2 tablespoons maida, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder, add water, and make a thick batter.

Step 2

Add 1 kg boneless chicken and mix well with batter. Leave it aside for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Heat oil in a Kadai and deep fry the chicken pieces like pakoda. Take them out and keep them aside.

Step 4

In a bowl, add 2 tablespoons soya sauce, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1 & 1/2 teaspoon red chili sauce, 2 tablespoons tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce, 1/2 cup water, and mix well. Keep it aside.

Step 5

Heat 2 tablespoons oil and add 6 chopped finely chopped garlic, 1 inch finely chopped ginger, 6 chopped green chilies, 2 chopped spring onions. Sauté well for a minute.

Step 6

Add sauce liquid, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder, and mix well.

Step 7

Add 3 tablespoons of cornflour starch and mix well.

Step 8

Now add chopped spring onion greens, chopped coriander leaves, and mix well.

Step 9

Add fried chicken pieces to the sauce and mix well—Cook for 2 minutes.

Step 10

Turn off the stove and serve hot.
