This delicious Dahi Bhindi is an Indian curry where Okra is cooked in yogurt gravy. It’s a great way to enjoy okra in a tangy, creamy sauce. It is easy to make and goes well with any Indian bread.
Ingredients
- 150 Grams Bhindi
- 3 Tablespoons Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Jeera
- 1/2 Teaspoons Mustard Seeds
- 1 Cup Chopped Onions
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 3/4 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Jeera Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 Tablespoon Besan
- 1 Cup Curd
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1/2 Teaspoon Kasuri Methi
- Chopped Coriander Leaves
Method
Step 1
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add chopped bhindi. Sauté for 3 minutes. Take them out and keep them aside.
Step 2
Add 1 tablespoon oil and add 1/2 teaspoon jeera, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds.
Step 3
Add 1 cup chopped onions and sauté well. Close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, and mix well.
Step 5
Add 3/4 teaspoons chili powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/4 teaspoon jeera powder, 1/4 teaspoon garam masala, and mix well.
Step 6
Add 1 tablespoon besan and mix well. Add 1 cup curd and mix well on low flame.
Step 7
Add 1/2 cup water and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 8
Add 1/2 teaspoon Kasuri methi and mix well. Add bhindi and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 9
Add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
